Clubs in the Premier League and Football League attempt to secure last minute deals before the transfer window closes at 11pm

Like it or lump it, the first transfer deadline day of 2013 is upon us and it's unlikely to go down without incident. Teams at either end of the Premier League and Football League are fighting for the best cut price deals before the deadline with the usual suspects likely to take center stage once again. IBTimes UK will have news of every fax being sent, every spotting in burger king, updates on Robbie Keane's boyhood club and all the devilishly farfetched transfer rumours throughout the day right up until the 11pm deadline.

Plenty to update you on already this morning. Middlesbrough have reportedly agreed a £5m fee with Swansea City to bring Danny Graham back to the Riverside, with Sunderland continuing to prowl.

At QPR, who are likely to be very busy on this deadline day, Chris Samba is understood to have passed a medical at Loftus Road ahead of completing a move from Russian big spenders Anzhi while Tottenham outcasts Jermaine Jenas and David Bentley are both expected to join the Premier League's bottom club at some point today.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed a deal for Tom Ince is unlikely, as has Reading boss Brian McDermott, Arsene Wenger is unlikely to bring in a replacement for the injured Kieran Gibbs and Tottenham Hotspur insist there is no truth in their interest in David Villa.

Tottenham are also being linked with a loan move for Lyon striker Lisandro Lopez, but with Lyon having already turned down a similar offer from Juventus, the north Londoners will struggle to broker a deal on deadline day.

A quick raid through this morning's papers while we wait for deadline day to come to the boil.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Stoke City are plotting a triple deadline day swoop involving Birmingham City's Jack Butland, Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone and Bolton's Marco Alonso.

The Sun says Harry Redknapp wants to sign Andros Townsend on loan until the end of the season, while Everton have been linked with a move for Sevilla's Alvaro Negredo, who have been linked with moves to Arsenal and Tottenham earlier this month.

The Daily Express claim Peter Odemwingie and Niko Kranjcar are also targets for QPR on deadline day, but that Tom Huddlestone will reject a move to Stoke City in favour of remaining in the capital with Fulham after opening discussions over a move to Craven Cottage.

Not that we expected it, but Celtic contract rebel Victor Wanyama has ruled out a move away from Parkhead on deadline day. The 21-year old has rejected a new contract at Celtic, but will remain until at least the end of the season despite being linked with a move to Manchester United:
"I can confirm to you that I will be at Celtic," Wanyama told the Daily Record.

That news will be welcomed by Celtic fans ahead of the SPL title and the Champions League last 16 tie with Juventus. Hoops fans will rest all the more easier should the future of Gary Hooper be sorted. Hooper is another who has been linked with a move away, with Norwich City having had three bids rejected for his services.

With a deal for Gary Hooper stalling as things stand, Norwich City are understood to be in talks with Luciano Becchio over a move for the Leeds United forward. The Argentine handed in a transfer request last week. The deal could see Steve Morison move in the other direction. Chris Hughton was optimistic after his side's draw with Tottenham Hotspur that business would be done.

Goal.com are reporting that Arsenal have launched a last gasp bid for David Villa. Arsene Wenger said the deal was dead in the water in his post-match press conference last night, but The Gunners have reportedly not given up on recruiting the Barcelona striker.

Fulham could be among the busiest clubs on deadline day, with as many as four players potentially joining the club. We've already heard about a possible move for Tom Huddlestone, but according to agent Mino Raiola, defender Stanislav Manolev will join the club, while it's being suggested that Jack Butland is also a potential target. Urby Emanuelson is also due in west London.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp on Sky Sports: "I do not think we will be saying goodbye to Jamie Mackie. [Potential loan signing] Jermaine Jenas is an excellent player when he is fit.

"The rest of the day involves training for me, and chief executive Philip Beard will getting on with the transfers.

"I do not know why I am associated with deadline day, I did not do that much business with Spurs. I wish I was sitting in a situation where we did not need any players.

"But, we are not in that situation, and we have lost centre-back Ryan Nelsen so I need a replacement for him and we have got Chris Samba. He is a massive signing for us."

Regardless of what you might think of Balotelli's behavior and off the field lifestyle, his departure to Milan is another story of the Premier League losing one of the world's best players. The self-professed best league in the world is having its reputation damaged once again.

Danny Graham's representatives have ruled out a move to Middlesbrough for the Swansea City striker. Sunderland have long been linked with a move for the 27 year old, who has shifted down the pecking order at the Liberty Stadium Fancy that one to run and run.

Scharner earned a reputation as a utility player during his days at the DW Stadium but is most probably cover for the injured Ivan Ramis, who is out for the season after picking up a cruciate knee ligament injury during the draw with Fulham. Handy signing from Martinez, who rarely gets it wrong.

Very unlikely we'll see any moves from the Premier League's biggest sides, but on Twitter at least there is plenty of clamour from Arsenal fans for a new left back to be brought in on deadline day. Andre Santos endured another torrid evening against Liverpool on Wednesday and Kieran Gibbs is out for the next three weeks with a thigh strain. Arsene Wenger has however downplayed a move for a replacement.

We're into the final 13 hours of transfer window deadline day and yet only one deal has been confirmed with Paul Scharner rejoining Wigan. Of course we're expecting moves from QPR, Fulham and Stoke City throughout the day, and as we've come accustom to on deadline day, at least one club are likely to spring a surprise.

Stoke City are on the brink of signing American defender Brek Shea, subject to a work permit. The FC Dallas player will be subject to an FA panel hearing in order to complete his move to The Potters.

The only other deal of the day so far comes from Oldham Athletic, who have signed Chris Iwelumo on loan from Watford. The Scottish international is without a league goal since April 2012 after a spell at Notts County earlier this season.

News from two opposite ends of the country; West Ham United are expected to complete a deal for Blackburn Rovers and former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson before the end of the day and in the north east BBC Sport are reporting that Kevin Mbabu will sign for Newcastle today.

It's been a long time coming has a decision over David Beckham's future, but it appears that the former England captain has made a decision to join the Ligue 1 leaders. Of course, Beckham played under Carlo Ancelotti during his first loan spell at AC Milan.

More on David Beckham's move to PSG from former teammate and best friend Gary Neville: "He’s played for some big football clubs in big cities; Milan, Madrid, Manchester, Los Angeles. Paris is a great city as well. I spoke to him 10 days ago, he loves playing football.

"I speak to him, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, they’re incredible characters really and the love affair they have with football has never left them. I don’t know where they get that enthusiasm from.

"He’s still incredibly fit, I don’t think there will be a problem with his medical and he’s always been an incredibly fit player and someone who has got incredible stamina. It’s another chance for him to continue to play at a really good level of football."
