I am currently in the process of trying to plan exactly what I will be bringing to with me on my five day jaunt to the world's casino capital, flying out tomorrow morning from London. As well as live coverage on the ground from Vegas, our technology reporters in London and Bangalore will be covering every breaking news story from all the major companies attending the show.

Samsung is always one of the biggest companies showing off at CES, and 2013 is no different. We like a bit of a teaser here at IBTimes and Samsung hasn't disappointed this year, promising "a true innovation of TV design is coming up with an unprecedented new TV shape and timeless gallery design.” What do you think?

That's it for today on the CES 2013 live blog, when I will begin my long trek to Las Vegas. In the mean time, he's a video of Lady GaGa wearing an umbrella on her head announcing some products which never made it to market

Off to Gatwick to fly to Vegas for CES with @VFritzNews - excited, apprehensive, laden with gadgets, cameras, and fitness trackers
Good morning from Las Vegas. Having managed to get a proper night's sleep, I'm ready to hit CES hard today.

The show doesn't officially start until tomorrow, but there will be a lot of news announced today, with CES Unveiled taking place later on, before the big Nvidia press conference tonight - when it would be a big surprise if Tegra 4 was NOT announced

As the show gets ever closer the usual leaks and rumours begin to break out, with this Acer tablet expected to be launched at CES 2013. Read the full story here www.ibtimes.co.uk

Acer has so far failed to release a tablet which has been a success (though the same could be said for a lot of Android tablet manufacturers) though I really like the A700 which was launched at CES 12 months ago. It need it's next tablet to be priced competitively and have a great screen to have a chance of succeeding...

Nothing like a 5KM dodging the drunks on the Las Vegas strip at 7am to set you up for the day yfrog.com/nvqjkekj
Interesting points from Guardian tech editor Charles Arthur about CES as a place where the big announcements are made, and how the bigger companies are staying away.
by David Gilbert1/6/2013 4:27:34 PM
On an entirely different note, it was a huge struggle to get online this morning and I ended up paying $12 for 24 hours access, and if I want to use another device besides my laptop, it'll be another $12....not very good for someone at CES with a lot of devices....

So it seems as if the overwhelming majority of people in our poll think a portrait orientated TV would not work. Actually surprised that 25% of people think it would work....

CES is not only a place where products are launched but also a trade show where buyers go to see what they'll be stocking up on this year. One of the largest sections these days is the smartphone, tablet accessories section and Griffin has just announced a new charging dock for the ultimate Apple fan.....
