Welcome to the IBTimes UK Live Blog of CES 2013, the world's biggest technology show case taking place in Las Vegas from this Sunday, 6 January and running until the end of next week, 11 January.

I am currently in the process of trying to plan exactly what I will be bringing to with me on my five day jaunt to the world's casino capital, flying out tomorrow morning from London. As well as live coverage on the ground from Vegas, our technology reporters in London and Bangalore will be covering every breaking news story from all the major companies attending the show.

Samsung is always one of the biggest companies showing off at CES, and 2013 is no different. We like a bit of a teaser here at IBTimes and Samsung hasn't disappointed this year, promising "a true innovation of TV design is coming up with an unprecedented new TV shape and timeless gallery design.” What do you think?

People are already beginning to land in Las Vegas for CES 2013. It doesn't start properly until Sunday night, which is about 60 hours away. That's a lot of free time to have in Las Vegas......

The show doesn't officially start until tomorrow, but there will be a lot of news announced today, with CES Unveiled taking place later on, before the big Nvidia press conference tonight - when it would be a big surprise if Tegra 4 was NOT announced

Acer has so far failed to release a tablet which has been a success (though the same could be said for a lot of Android tablet manufacturers) though I really like the A700 which was launched at CES 12 months ago. It need it's next tablet to be priced competitively and have a great screen to have a chance of succeeding...

On an entirely different note, it was a huge struggle to get online this morning and I ended up paying $12 for 24 hours access, and if I want to use another device besides my laptop, it'll be another $12....not very good for someone at CES with a lot of devices....

So it seems as if the overwhelming majority of people in our poll think a portrait orientated TV would not work. Actually surprised that 25% of people think it would work....

CES is not only a place where products are launched but also a trade show where buyers go to see what they'll be stocking up on this year. One of the largest sections these days is the smartphone, tablet accessories section and Griffin has just announced a new charging dock for the ultimate Apple fan.....
